Post Title. 11/29/2009

Yesterday was a beautiful day to be at a craft fair.
There were about 60-70 vendors with wonderful works of art. I was impressed.
Craig and I enjoyed meeting and talking to a lot of nice people.
My Santas were a hit.

I know I said that I wouldn't be doing anymore outdoor craft shows, but I couldn't pass this one up.

It looks like there will be alot of interesting and different hand made products. And tomorrow should be nice and warm (no threat of rain)!
I will have my felted purses as well as a few new wool creations.
Here is a sample of my recycled wool Santas:

Colour Karma 11/27/2009

I have been busy creating a new quilted wall hanging that features the fabric of Lorin Fields.
I have named it Colour Karma because it is a pleasure just to look at it.
It will be on sale at the Carolina Designer Craftsman Guild Show at the NC State Fairgrounds this weekend.

lessons learned 10/25/2009

Yesterday's street fair in Pittsboro was somewhat dissapointing. The attendance was almost as bad as the weather. The morning was light rain on and off, but the afternoon brought heavy rain.

This was the first outdoor craft show that I have participated in, and it my be my last. Oh well, at least it wasn't cold rain.

I have spent the past couple of weeks knitting and felting  like crazy to get ready for a craft show.

I will be at the Pittsboro,NC Street fair tomorrow with my felted purses.

I am hoping it isn't going to rain.

Why Why Why 10/02/2009

No matter what I am working on "Moby" the cat feels the need to take a nap on it. Does't he look comfortable on my red and white quilt that I am working on.

colour charm 09/22/2009

I have been busy working on my quilt pattern "Colour Charm".

It was time consuming but a lot of fun. I had to relearn Word and Power Point. But I had a very good teacher, my hubby Craig, as well as encouragement from Lorin (whose hand-dyed fabrics I am fortunate to work with).

The pattern is now in Thimble Pleasures fabric store in Chapel Hill, NC, along with "Local Colour Hues" hand-dyed fabrics.

Best of Friends 09/15/2009

I couldn't resist putting up a picture of my two "sweeties", Mocha and Buddy.

Their collars were so easy to make. You can buy the hardware and directions in some quilt shops and online.

I have been knitting and felting, to get ready for the fall craft fairs. I just finished this nice red wool felted purse. It is still in the drying phase on my kitchen counter. My husband happened to place hot peppers near it (he has been harvesting and drying hot peppers, which is another story altogether).
They look so nice next to each other.

Civil War quilt 09/09/2009

I finally finished my Civil War quilt, one that I started 7 or 8 years ago.
It was a "buck-a- block" from Archangel Fabrics in Raleigh (before they closed).
It was made using "thangles", which made it so easy to get perfect half square triangles.
Thangles are paper templates that come in various sizes, which are directly sewn on and torn away.
