I have been thinking of adopting another cat for some time. Craig has been trying to talk me out of it, but he didn't succeed. Yesterday I adopted a beautiful male gray tabby kitten from a lovely woman who fosters cats. He is the most well adjusted kitten I have ever seen - it is like he has always lived here. He loves the dogs, he is litter box trained, plays with his toys and sleeps in his new kitty bed. He shows no anxiety or shyness at all. We are having a bit of a problem with Moby, our 8 year old male cat; we are introducing them slowly. Moby is an indoor/ outdoor cat, so he is is expressing his displeasure by staying out more than usual. But I am planning on keeping new kitty indoors only, so at least Moby won't have to share the great outdoors with him.
We are now working on naming the little sweetie. He came to us with the name of Scooby, which is weird, because our male chocolate lab Buddy was named Scooby Doo by the Vet who rescued him and my daughter had a dog in Madagascar whom she named Scooby. So part of me thinks we should keep the name Scooby. But so far we have come up with Henry (after my father), Pippin, and Wiggs (after Craig's father). Seeing it's Father's Day tomorrow maybe we should go with one of our Father's names. Anyway, What's-His-Name is the cutest thing, and has provided us with so much entertainment already. I even found Craig (who didn't want another cat) napping yesterday with kitty asleep on his chest. I think he has won him over! Now we just have to work on Moby.

I love your new family member! What a cutie! He looks like my Sweetie Pie did when I first got her... And I'm glad to hear that you'll be keeping him as an inside cat, too. I imagine that Moby will get used to the idea as long as you continue to give him a lot of attention also. I'm so happy for you all! Margie
