Earlier this summer, Craig and I took a wonderful trip to Vermont and New Hampshire. Lots if great memories of our time living here back in our dating years.
Craig was invited to speak at the Mother Earth Fair in Burlington Vt. We were lucky that the Burlington Jazz Festival happened to coincide with the fair. We had a great time biking the trail along Lake Champlain, eating great food and listening to great music (Diana Krall was amazing). Then we spent a few glorious days on Sunset Lake, NH in a tiny house. I spent several summers on this lake with my family when I was a child. I haven't been back in 50 years. It was bittersweet having lost my sister Liz, and brother David in the past year and a half. It was a place that we were all so happy, and where I feel closest to them. It was magical being back listening to the loons call, kyacking, swimming and just "being". Very healing!

I have been busy this summer making t-shirt quilts, so it is always a nice change to make some Santas and Teddy Dog/Bears.
A nice lady from Alabama sent me some of her Grandparents' clothing to make this adorable stuffed dog and these cute Santas. The Teddy Dog was made out of Gramma's clothing which was pretty colorful (almost too colorful), but she came out super-cute. The Santas are made from Grandpa's shirts. I was able to include his work logo on each. What a nice break for me.....now, back to quilting. |
