Back from a three day quilt retreat with my Threads of Friendship quilting bee. Kathy graciously offered her beautiful house in Beaufort for the week. We were working on quilts to donate to "Interact", a nonprofit organization that helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. We all were averaging one quilt top a day, so we should have quite a few quilts to donate.
It was a lot of fun sharing great food, lots of laughs and beautiful scenery with such a wonderful group of women (plus two sweet little dogs). Here are the quilt tops that I finished:

![]() I am so happy to finally have my kitchen back... and such a beautiful kitchen!! It is almost completed - just some molding and small things to finish up. It is such a pleasure to cook and even clean up in this kitchen (I never thought that I would enjoy doing dishes). I feel like I have a new house. My daughter Sara's book "Madagascar Travel Companion" is now available on Amazon. I am so proud of her! I can't wait to read it. I just ordered a copy online even thought the publisher is going to send us one.
She is such a great writer with a wonderful sense of humor, and I am not just saying this because she is my daughter. The photography also looks amazing. Sara has had so many remarkable adventures during her 4 trips to Madagascar. I am sure her book will be very informative...and quite entertaining! Our new cabinets were installed today. We love them! The were made by Noles Cabinets in Fuquay Varina. The guys did a great job with the installation. We are amazed every time we go into the kitchen; it has been transformed from dark and dated to bright and beautiful. I can't stop opening the drawers and cabinets.
Next comes the countertops. |
